Other info. - This weedy but showy species can be found scattered throughout Missouri. This is a simple species to identify as nothing else in our flora looks like it. The thin leaves and spurred flowers are good characters for an identification. The plant is very popular in cultivation and grows easily from seed.
The leaves of this species can appear opposite as well as alternate.
