Other info. - This seemingly plain yet striking species can be found in the Ozark and southwest prairie regions of Missouri. My pictures really don't do the plant justice. It is easy to recognize in the field because of its whitish stems and dark green leaves (which contrast the stem greatly). The erect form of the plant and scorpoid cymes make it a species worthy of cultivation, even if the flowers are small and greenish. This is one of my favorite Missouri species.
