Habitat - Moist depressions of upland prairies, pond margins, stream edges, pastures, old fields, roadsides, railroads, moist open areas.

Origin - Nearly worldwide, especially in the tropics.

Other info. - This common species can be found throughout Missouri. The flowers and inflorescences of this species can be quite variable and may not appear just as in the pictures above.
