Habitat - Roadsides, railroads, old fields, waste ground.
Origin - Native to Europe.
Other info. - This attractive species is can be found in just a few Missouri counties but its range is sure to spread with time. The plant is weedy but would do well in cultivation if it was kept in check.
In the southern U.S. the plant is grown for forage, erosion control, and soil improvement.
